Presentation: Birds of the Willamette Valley’s oak woodlands: Conservation needs and opportunities.
Speaker: Joel Geier
Joel Geier is a hydrogeologist who works mainly on groundwater contamination issues, but spends part of each year on scientific research aimed at conservation of grassland and oak woodland birds in western Oregon. He also server as field notes compiler for Audubon Society of Corvallis, and as coordinator of the Willamette Valley Birding Trail initiative, which promotes birdwatching opportunities in this region as a means of bringing tourism-based economic opportunities to rural communities.
