This events spans two days: Monday – Tuesday, October 13-14, from 9 am to approximately 3 pm each day.

We’re asking our community to help us install silage tarp as part of the Sankey Park Floodplain Restoration Project. The tarp will help control invasive reed canary grass and prepare the soil for future native planting.

Our worksite location will be the covered bridge on the east side of Ames Creek. We’ll work together to unroll, place, and secure the silage tarp over roughly one acre of reed canary grass. The work involves carrying tarp sections, smoothing them out, and fastening edges so they stay in place.

Given the nature of the work and location, expect wet and slick conditions, working on uneven ground with heavy materials.
